THE BATTLE OF SAN JACINTO was a miracle for the Texians: only 12 Texians died while over 630 Mexican soldados lost their lives on the battleground. However, such a dramatic victory could not be won without a heavy cost, and the brutality of the battle and the difficulties of the experience of the soldiers who fought in this battle on both sides often falls to the wayside. Step into the shoes of a Texian soldier at San Jacinto for a program with a focus on one of the battle's most difficult aspects.
Suitable for ages 18 and up, this program will take place outside of the San Jacinto Monument, and is free.
This program will be the subject of a voluntary academic study on interpretive programming. If you would like to participate as a subject in the study survey, inform educator Bailey Brantley at the conclusion of the program to receive more information.
