Memory and the Battleground Van Tour

The base of the San Jacinto Monument is seen across water, through fog.

THE SAN JACINTO BATTLEGROUND STATE HISTORIC SITE features numerous memorials to the Texian soldiers who fought and died on these grounds. The creation of the monuments on the San Jacinto Battleground took decades of discussion, collaboration, and research. Join educator Bailey Brantley for a focused battleground van tour looking at what was preserved in stone contrasted with what was enshrined only in archives and memory.

Van capacity is 14 people.  Register in advance online.  In-person registration day of event is available, space permitting.

NOTICE: This program will be the subject of a voluntary academic study on interpretive programming. If you would like to participate as a subject in the study survey, inform educator Bailey Brantley at the conclusion of the program to receive more information.
