PEOPLE IN THE 1830S GOT SICK, just like we do today, but they
had very different ways of treating illness. Before modern medicine, people had to rely on natural ingredients like cinnamon and willow bark to cure illnesses.
Learn more about historic medicine and try making your own by grinding cinnamon bark in a mortar and pestle at our touch table! Free with purchase of a ticket to the San Jacinto Museum, the touch table will be set up outside the San Jacinto Monument. Suitable for kids aged 5 and up; younger children are welcome, but will need to have an adult to help.
