FARNSWORTH, OLIVER - Came to Texas in January, 1836, as is shown in Headright Certificate No.78 issued to him February 2, 1838 for one third of a league of land by the Harrisburg County Board. The land was surveyed in Mialm and Lee Counties in 1847. He was issued Bounty Certificate No. 1790 for 320 acres of land, January 12, 1838 for having served in the army from December 20, 1836 to December 7, 1837. On December 29, 1836 he enlisted in Captain George M. Casey’s Company.

Mr. Farnsworth was issued Donation Certificate No. 248 for 640 acres of land, May 29, 1838 for having been detailed to guard the baggage at Harrisburg. The land was surveyed in the Fannin Land District in what is now Hunt County.
