EVANS, MOSES - In Comptroller’s Military Service Record No. 6712 it is certified that Mr. Evans enlisted April 7, 1836 and was on April 9th elected Second Lieutenant of Captain J. B. Chance’s Company. He was issued Bounty Certificate No. 2449 for 320 acres of land February 24, 1838 for having served in the army from April 7 to May 7, 1836. On September 5, 1838 he received Donation Certificate No. 530 for 640 acres of land for having been detailed 1853. His grave in the old cemetery near Washington, Washington County is marked.
