EMMONS, CALVIN BRALLEY - Came to Texas in February, 1832, as is stated in Headright Certificate No. 62 issued to him February 4, 1838 for one-twelfth of a league of land, by the Milam County Board of Land Commissioners, he having previously received one-fourth of a league.

Mr. Emmons was a member of Captain Joseph B. Chance’s Washington Company. He was issued Donation Certificate No. 290 for 640 acres of land June 5, 1838 for having been detailed to guard the baggage at the camp opposite Harrisburg, April 21, 1836. He was a member of Major Issac W. Burton’s Company of Horse Marines at the capture of the Watchman and other Mexican vessels, June 2, 1836. On January 9, 1838 he was issued Bounty Certificate No. 1859 for 960 acres of land for having served in the army from November 25, 1835 to October 6, 1836.
Mr. Emmons died in Milam County in 1849. Daniel Monroe was appointed administrator of his estate April 15, 1849 (Deeds Records of McLennan County, Book O, page 800) C. B. Emmons, Jr., a son of C. B. Emmons, was born in 1847 and was living in McLennan County, September 17, 1878. He was married to Emma Burton who was born October 2, 1853 and died November 12, 1899 at Alvord, Texas. Mr. Emmons died in Collinsville, Texas, February 18, 1903.
