BRYODY, PATRICK - Listed on page 43 of the army rolls in the General Land Office as Patrick Brady, one of the members of Captain William M. Logan’s company who were detailed to guard the baggage at the camp opposite Harrisburg, April 21, 1836. His name is not shown on the San Jacinto rolls printed in 1836 but due to the information contained in Comptroller’s Military Service Record No. 1878 and to the fact that he received a San Jacinto donation certificate the compiler had his name placed on the bronze plaque in the San Jacinto monument as a participant of the battle. He is convinced now (March 26, 1941) that Mr. Bryody was left at the Harrisburg camp.

In Comptroller’s Military Service Record No. 1878 signed by Captain William M. Logan it is certified that Mr. Bryody (Misspelled Bryarly) served in Captain Logan’s company at San Jacinto as a substitute for John Booth and was discharged at Goliad.
Mr. Bryody was issued Bounty Certificate No. 2169 for 320 acres of land for having served in the army from March 6 to June 6, 1836. On December 5, 1838 he was issued Donation Certificate No. 654 for 640 acres of land for having participated in the battle of San Jacinto as a substitute for John Booth.
On page ________of the Land Office army rolls Mr. Bryody is shown as having served in Captain Franklin Hardin’s company from July 7 to October 7, 1836
BRYODY, PATRICK -- The compiler is responsible for having the name Patrick Bryody put on the bronze plaque in the San Jacinto memorial monument on which are inscribed the names of the Texans who participated in the battle of San Jacinto. He now (March 28, 1941) believes that Mr. Bryody was among those detailed to remain at the camp opposite Harrisburg, April 21, 1836. See the sketch of Mr. Bryody in this Harrisburg volume.
