BOND, GEORGE - Came to Texas in January, 1836. (See Headright Certificate No. 87 for one-third of a league of land issued to him in 1838 by the Board of Land Commissioners for Robertson County). He was a member of Captain Joseph B. Chance’s “Washington Company”. His name appears on pages 42 and 137 of the Army rolls in the General Land Office as George Bord’ a member of Captain Chance’s company. He was issued Donation Certificate No. 358 for 640 acres of land August 4, 1851 for having been detailed to guard the baggage at the camp opposite Harrisburg, April 21, 1836.

Mr. Bond was living in Navasota county, now Brazos County, in 1841.
