BENNETT, JAMES - Was issued Bounty Certificate No. 9276 for 320 acres of land September 2, 1839 for having served in the army from April 1 to July 1, 1836. He was a member of Captain Gibson Kuykendall’s Company and on November 13, 1838 was issued Donation Certificate No. 593 for 640 acres of land for having been detailed to guard the baggage at the camp opposite Harrisburg, April 21, 1836. He received Bounty Certificate No. 1313 for 320 acres of land June 23, 1853 for his services from June 25 to September 25, 1836. When discharged he was a member of Captain Washington H. Secrest’s Company.
