ABBOTT, CALVIN P. - Came to Texas prior to May 2, 1835, as is stated in the Headright Certificate No. 268 for one-third of a league of land issued to him February 1, 1838 by the Board of Land Commissioners for Brazoria County.

Mr. Abbott was issued Bounty Certificate No. 1234 for 320 acres of land, February 11, 1855 for serving in the army from March 6 to June 6, 1836. He was a member of Captain Peyton R. Splane’s Company and on July 30, 1855 was issued Donation Certificate No. 709 for 640 acres of land for having been detailed to guard the baggage.
Mr. Abbott was living in Austin, September 11, 1853 when he sold his bounty certificate to O. W. Tyler.
