WILSON, JAMES -- Arrived in Texas in August 1834 as is shown in the Headright Certificate issued to him January 20, 1838 for one third of a league of land by the Montgomery County Board. This he sold on the same date to Job S. Collard. In Comptroller's Military Service Record No. 5335 it is stated that Mr. Wilson served in the army from March 12, to June 12, 1836 and was in Captain William Ware's Company at San Jacinto. He was discharged at Camp Guadalupe. He next enlisted in Captain Washington H. Secrest's Company in June, 1836, and was discharged October 23, 1836.

Mr. Wilson was issued Bounty Certificate No. 489 for 640 acres of land July 31, 1838 for having participated in the Battle of San Jacinto. He received Bounty Certificate No. 9313 for 320 acres of land, November 26, 1839 for having served in the army from March 15 to June 15, 1836. This he had previously assigned to Samuel Rains.
