WILLIAMS, FRANCIS F.-- Came to Texas in Jan. 1836, as is stated in Headright Certificate No. 33 issued to him for one-third of a league of land by the Board of Land Commissioners for Harrisburg County. As a matter of fact he arrived at Velasco, January 28, 1836, on the Schooner Pennsylvania, having been recruited in New Orleans for the Army of Texas by Captain Amasa Turner. On page 27 army rolls in the General Land Office he is shown as a member of Captain John Hart's Company at Velasco, January 30, 1836. Richard Roman succeeded Captain Hart in command of the Company. In Comptroller's Military Service Record No. 3216 it is certified that Mr. Williams enlisted in Captain Turner's Company but was transferred to Captain Roman's Company and participated in the Battle of San Jacinto. It is also stated that he served in the army from February 13, 1836 to July 31, 1837. He was issued Bounty Certificate No. 1813 for 1280 acres of land January 13 ,1838 for having served in the army from February 13, 1836 to July 31, 1837. He was issued Bounty Certificate No. 1813 for 1280 acres of land January 13, 1838 for having served in the army from February 13, 1836 to August 30, 1837. This he sold in Milam County to Joseph Harlin for $175.00, January 13, 1838. He did not apply for the land due him for his having participated in the Battle of San Jacinto.

Mr. Williams died prior to June 27, 1844, at which time Horatio Nelson of Houston County, administrator of his estate, appointed J.C. Neill agent to locate and survey the land due him as a Headright
