Mr. Tyler on November 27, 1837, was issued Bounty Certificate No. 558 for 960 acres of land for having served in the army from February 13, 1836, to November 27, 1837. This he sold in Harrisburg County November 27, 1837, for $50.00 to Jeremiah Sanders. In Service Record No. 5298 it is certified that he was transferred to the Navy April 8, 1837. He was a member of Captain Turner's Company at San Jacinto and on July 23, 1839, was issued Donation Certificate No. 924 for 640 acres of land for having participated in the battle.

Mr. Tyler was living in Falls County in 1881.

Living in Grimes County in 1856.

Wrote to W. E. Hodges, Marlin Dec. 28, 34.
He is a member of the legislature.

ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS - KNOW YE, that I have this day made, constituted and appointed P. De Cordova, H. C. Withers and Jas. P. McKinney, doing business as DeCordova, Withers and Co. of Austin, Travis County, Texas, or either of them my true and lawful Attorneys, for me and in my name to demand receive and receipt for any and all moneys, vouchers or certificates due and to become due to me from the State of Texas, or from any of her officers in their official capacity for and on account of any services rendered by me or by any other person for me, and to collect, control, change, or compromise in any legal manner any claim of any description whatsoever due or to become due to me from any source, State or person, whatsoever, hereby ratifying and confirming any and all things which I said attorneys, or either of them may legally do in the premises.

Tyler who being duly sworn according to law, declares that he is the identical Charles C. Tyler who was a private in Captain Amasa Turner's company Infantry of the ____ Regiment of _____ that he enlisted on or about the 1st day of February 1836 for the term of two years or during war and was discharged at _____ on or about the _____ day of 1837 by reason of the retreat of the Mexican forces from Texas and that he is the identical Charles C. Tyler to whom Donation warrant No. 924 was issued by Chas. C. Mason, Acty. Secy of Wars on the _____.
