TRENARY, JOHN B. -- Arrived in Texas in 1835, as is stated in the Headright Certificate issued to him June 6, 1838, for a league and labor of land by the Houston County Board. With him came his wife and children and two slaves. On page 45 of the army rolls in the General Land Office, he is shown as having enlisted in Captain Hayden Arnold's "Nacogdoches Company" March 6, 1836. His estate was issued Bounty Certificate No. 660 for 320 acres of land, June 26, 1850, due him for having served in the army for three months, time not specified. Since he enlisted March 6, he was evidently discharged June 6, 1836. He was a member of Captain Arnold's Company at San Jacinto and on June 26, 1850 his estate received Donation Certificate No. 213 for 640 acres of land due him for having participated in the battle.
