TARIN, MANUEL -- Born in Bexar, Texas. This is shown in the Headright Certificate issued to him January 25, 1838, for one-third of a league of land by the Bexar County Board of Land Commissioners. He sold his certificate February 1, 1838 to Ludovic Colquhoun. On April 21, 1852 he was issued Bounty Certificate No. 1092 for 320 acres of land for having served in the army from February 22, to July 15, 1836. He was living in San Antonio December 25, 1852 when he sold the certificate to John James for $25.00.

Mr. Tarin was a member of Captain Juan N. Seguin's Company at San Jacinto and received Donation Certificate No. 388, dated November 20, 1851, for 640 acres of land for having participated in the battle. He had sold the rights to the certificate January 4, 1851, to John James for $40.
