In Comptroller's Military Service Record No. 8027, it is certified that Mr. Richardson served in the army from March 19 to December 19, 1336, when he was discharged by order of the Secretary of War. On page 144 of the army rolls in the General Land Office, he is shown as a member of Captain Henry Teal's Company, August 31, and on page 149 he is listed as a member of Captain Jacob Snively's Company, October 31, 1836. Following his name in the notation: "attached to Company B. by General Houston". On page 173, he is shown as a member of Captain Snively's Company and following his name is the notation: "Discharged by order of Secy. of War, Dec. 19, 1836".

Mr. Richardson no doubt left Texas shortly after being discharged from the army. He did not apply for the Donation Certificate for the land due him for his services at San Jacinto since Donation Certificates were non-transferable and he sold his rights to his Bounty Certificate. Bounty Certificate No. 6064 for 320 acres of land was issued in his name January 4, 1839 due him for having served in the army from March 17 to December 27, 1836, but the rights to the Certificate had been assigned to John James.

Mr. Richardson, on August 31, 1858, while a non-resident of Texas, through his attorney, W. E. Hollowell, notified the Commissioner of Claims that application would be made for the land due from the State of Texas. Mr. Richardson's place of residence was not shown in the notice and there is nothing in the Court of Claims files, General Land Office, to show that the claim was prosecuted.
