PARK, JOSEPH B.--Came to Texas in 1835, as is stated in the Headright Certificate issued him January 8, 1838 for a league and labor of land by the San Augustine County Board. He was a member of Captain Benjamin F. Bryant's company at San Jacinto and on November 30, 1839 was issued Donation Certificate No. 965 for 640 acres of land for having participated in the battle. This certificate was lost and certificate No. 649 for 640 acres was issued in its stead December 18, 1854. The land was surveyed in Navarro County in 1857. He received Bounty Certificate No. 2913 for 640 acres of land for serving in the army from March 15 to September 4, 1836.
