NOLAND, ELI - On page 43, Book B, containing a list of applicants for land in Austin's Colonies, it is shown that in Mr. Noland's application for land, which he did not receive, June 6, 1835 he stated that he was 31 years of age and had arrived in Texas from Ohio in 1835. In Headright Certificate No. 213 issued to him February 7, 1833 for one-league and one labor of land by the Board of Land Commissioners for Harrisburg it is also stated that he came to Texas in 1835.

Mr. Noland was a member of Captain William S. Fisher's Company of Velasco Blues at San Jacinto and on May 18, 1838 was issued Donation certificate No. 98 for 640 acres of land for having fought bravely in the battle.

The Deed Records of Guadalupe County, Book K, page 375 show that Mr. Noland died in Houston, Harris County, December 17, 1841, and that his widow was married to a Mr. O'Connor. In the Probate Records of Guadalupe County, Book F, page 41, it is stated that Mr. Noland was born in Ohio.
