MOORE, ROBERT D. -- In Book B, page 93 of the list of applicants for land in Austin's Colonies, Spanish Archives, General Land Office, Austin, it is shown that in 1831 when Mr. Moore applied for land he stated that he was thirty-six, and that his wife Anne Coleman Moore was twenty-six years of age, and that they had arrived in Texas from Alabama in April, 1831. On June 22, 1831 he received title to a league of land in Austin's third colony, situated in the present county of Jackson. In the Headright Certificate issued to him February 1, 1838 for one labor of land by the Board of Land Commissioners for Brazoria County it is stated that he arrived in Texas prior to May 2, 1835. The land was surveyed in the Nueces Land District in 1859 for the heirs of Mr. Moore by Felix A. Blucher.

Mr. Moore was a member of Captain Moseley Baker's San Felipe Company at San Jacinto and on May 18, 1838 he was issued Donation Certificate No. 108 for 640 acres of land for having participated in the battle. In Comptroller's Military Service Record No. 7528 it is certified that he served in the army from March 19 to May 5, 1836 and served one month longer as Captain of the Guard at Velasco. On __________ he received Bounty Certificate No. 937 for 320 acres of land for his services from March 21 to June 29, 1836.

Mr. Moore died in Nueces County in 1847. On October 6, 1854, H.W. Berry, administrator of his estate, sold his Donation Certificate No. 108 at Auction and also sold his Headright Certificate.
