MILLERMAN, IRA -- The records of the Texas Veterans Association show that Mr. Millerman was born in 1816. In the Headright Certificate issued to him February 10, 1838 for one-third of a league of land by the Board of Land Commissioners for Harrisburg County is stated that he came to Texas in February, 1836. That being the case he evidently joined the army while residing in the United States. He was issued Bounty Certificate No. 1635 for 1280 acres of land for having served in the army from January 9, 1836 to January 1, 1838. He was a member of Captain Henry Teal's Company but served in Captain Isaac Moreland's Company at San Jacinto. He was made a corporal August 28 and a sergeant September 17, 1836. He was sergeant in Lieutenant R. D. McCaskey's Company at muster December 31, 1836.
