MILLER, DANIEL -- Arrived in Texas prior to May 2, 1835, as is stated in the Headright Certificate issued to him February 17, 1838 for one-third of a league of land by the Colorado County Board. In Service Record No. 7635 it is stated that he served in the army from February 9 to May 30, 1836. He was a member of Captain William J. E. Heard's company of "Citizen Soldiers" at San Jacinto and on May 25, 1838 he was issued Donation Certificate No. 210 for 640 acres of land for having participated in the battle.

Mr. Miller was living in Colombia in 1852 and was a member of Caledonia (Masonic) Lodge No. 68. He was living in Coleman County November 9, 1881 when he sold his Veterans Donation Certificate for 1280 acres of land to J. M. Day.

Note: His sister Nancy Miller was married to Abraham Alley April 26, 1835.
