LIGHTFOOT, WILSON T. -- Arrived in Texas in April, 1830, as is shown in the Headright Certificate issued to him January 17, 1838 for one-twelfth of a league of land by the Fort Bend County Board of Land Commissioners. He received title to one-fourth of a league of land in Austin's Second Colony, situated in Bastrop County, April 4, 1831. He was issued Bounty Certificate No. 4150 for 640 acres of land August 2, 1838 for having served in the army from October 7, 1835 to May 29, 1836. The land was surveyed in Fort Bend County. He was a member of Captain William J.E. Heard's Company of "Citizen Soldiers" at San Jacinto and on November 27, 1838 received Donation Certificate No. 629 for 640 acres of land for having participated in the battle.

Mr. Lightfoot's home after the revolution was in Fort Bend County. He was twice married. His first wife having died, he was on January 30, 1850 married to Sarah Jane Scott. The Probate Records of Fort Bend County show that Mr. Lightfoot died in 1850. Paschal P. Borden was appointed administrator of his estate December 14, 1850. Two of his minor children, Ann and Joseph Lightfoot, were living in Fort Bend County in 1854.
In the Probate Records of Bastrop County it is shown that D.W. and Sarah Bruson were guardian of the minor children of Mr. Lightfoot in 1858. The children moved that year from Bastrop to Washington County.
