LEWELLYN, JOHN -- It is not known when Mr. Lewellyn came to Texas. He did not receive a Headright Certificate. He was issued Bounty Certificate No. 28 for 640 acres of land April 13, 1846 for having served in the army from March 16 to September 26, 1836. He was a member of Captain William S. Fisher's Company of " VELASCO BLUES', at San Jacinto and on May 29, 1850 was issued Donation Certificate No. 208 for 640 acres of land for having participated in the battle.

Mr. Lewellyn was living in Galveston County February 4, 1854 when he sold his Donation Certificate to Jacob D. Cordova for $160.00.
