LEEPER, SAMUEL -- Arrived in Texas in 1834, as is stated in the Headright Certificate issued to him January 20, 1838 for one-third of a league of land by the Jackson County Board. He was a member of Captain John York's Company in 1835 and on May 15, 1838 was issued Donation Certificate No. 18 for 640 acres of land for having participated in the Storming and Capture of Bexar, December 5 to 10, 1835. He received Bounty Certificate No. 2955 for 320 acres of land, April 18, 1838 for having served in the army from October 17, to December 20, 1835. He was Second Sergeant in Captain Hayden Arnold's Company at San Jacinto. On February 24, 1840 he was issued Bounty Certificate No. 9473 for 320 acres of land for his services from March 6 to June 7, 1836.
