LARBARTHRIER, CHARLES -- Born in 1811. He arrived in Texas in December, 1835, as is shown in the Headright Certificate issued to him February 2, 1838, for one-third of a league of land by the Harrisburg County Board. He was a member of Captain Henry Teal's Company at San Jacinto and was issued Donation Certificate No. 4572 for 1280 acres of land for having served in the army from January 8, 1836, to November 6, 1837.

Mr. Larbarthrier was living at Clinton, Parish of East Feleciana, Louisiana, November 17, 1855, when he petitioned the State of Texas to have issued to him a Donation Certificate for 640 acres of land due him for having participated in the battle of San Jacinto. The certificate was issued to him, or his heirs, November 6, 1866.
The following affidavit and statement made by Mr. Larbarthrier are copied from the Memorials and Petitions, Archives, Texas State Library, Austin:
"Personally came and appeared before me the undersigned authority Charles Larbarthrier of the above parish and State who, being duly sworn, according to law, declares that he is the identical Charles Larbarthrier who was a private in the company of Capt. Teel commanded by Col. Miller in Texas campaign of 1836, that he is now forty four years of age; that he was actually engaged in the battles of the Sanjasinto under General Samual Houston on the 21st and 22d days of April 1836, that he enlisted at St Augustine and was discharged by the Secretary of War Fisher at Nevitad, Texas in 1837, and that he never received his Donation Lands under any of the Laws of Texas. Wherefore he makes his application and prays that he may receive his donation lands for his said services. Further that he hereby makes, constitutes and appoints John M. Roberts of the Town of Clinton, La., he true and Lawful Attorny for him and in his name to demand and recover whatever that may be due him for his above military services as set forth in Texas wars for Donation Lands."
"Clinton, La., June 23, 1855.
I, CHARLES LARBARTHRIER, served as a private in the wars of the Republic of Texas, from the 8th day of January, 1836, to June, 1837, that I was also engaged in the battle of the San Jacinto, under the command of Col. Miller, and Capt. Null or Teel. I have received for my said services my Head Right and Bounty Land, but have never received any DONATION LAND for said services, and that I have never sold or assigned the same away to any person or persons."
