LANG, GEORGE WASHINGTON -- In the Headright Certificate granted to Mr. Lang June 7, 1841 for a league and labor of land by the Harrisburg County Board it is stated that he came to Texas in January, 1836. The land was surveyed in Bowie County. He was issued Bounty Certificate No. 9678 for 1280 acres of land for having served in the army from January 20, 1836 to December 18, 1837. The land was surveyed in Johnson County in 1852. He was a member of Captain Henry Teal's Company and on May 23, 1838 was issued Donation Certificate No. 196 for 640 acres of land for having participated in the battle of San Jacinto. The land was surveyed in Austin County. In Comptroller's Military Service Record No. 1943 it is certified that Mr. Lang was a blacksmith in the quartermaster's Department.

In the Deed Records of Harris County, Book L, page 479, Mr. Lang is shown as living in Harris County.
