The records of the Texas Veterans Association, page 603, D. W. Baker's Texas Scrap Book, show that Mr. Kincheloe was born in 1819 and had "served in the army, 1836." He was probably a member of Captain William J. E. Heard's Company.

An Act of the Legislature, approved August 28, 1856, granted to Mr. Kincheloe "A certificate for 320 acres of land, for bounty land; and a like certificate for 320 acres of land, for bounty land; and a certificate for 640 acres of land as San Jacinto donation land, to which said Kincheloe is entitled to by virtue of his services in the army of 1835 and 1836 and having participated in the battle of San Jacinto."

Mr. Kincheloe was issued Bounty Certificate No. 4879/4981 for 320 acres of land and Bounty Certificate No. 4879/4980 for 320 acres, August 28, 1856. On the same date Donation Certificate No. 4877/4978 for 640 acres of land was issued in the name of Daniel R. Kincheloe for the relief of Daniel T. Kincheloe; Samuel T. Montgomery; heirs of Jesse W. Thomas; heirs of Virgil A. Stewart; and the heirs of John Thomas.

In the Headright certificate issued to Mr. Kincheloe for one-third of a league of land by the Matagorda County Board of Land Commissioners, February 1, 1838 it is stated that he came to Texas in 1834.

Mr. Kincheloe was a son of William and Mary Kincheloe. Two of his brothers were Augustus S. and Lawrence H. Kincheloe. William Kincheloe, the father, was issued title to two league of land situated in the present county of Wharton, July 8, 1824.

In the Marriage Records, Book of Matagorda County it is shown Daniel R. Kincheloe and Martha A. Barnes were married at Matagorda by the Reverend F. E. Foster in 1843.

Mr. Kincheloe died in Wharton County in 1873. His estate was open for probate April 10, 1873, on which date his widow Mrs. Martha A. Kincheloe was appointed administratrix of his estate.
