JOSLIN, JAMES -- In the Headright Certificate for one third of a league of land issued to Mr. Joslin by the Fannin County Board it is not stated when he came to Texas. In Service Record No. 524 it is certified that he served in the army from March 17, to June 17, 1836. He was a member of Captain William S. Fisher's Company at San Jacinto. He did not apply for the land due him for his military service.

Mr. Joslin was living in Galveston County May 10, 1844 when a jury awarded him his headright land of 1/3 league. This he sold to Elias Brush May 16, 1844 for $500.00. The Deed Records of Robertson County, Book U, page 533, show him as living in Leon County January 12, 1872. If he died in Leon County his estate was not probated there.
