In 1835 he was a member of Captain W. H. Landrun's Company. He was a member of Captain James Gillaspie's Company at San Jacinto and on July 7, 1838, was issued Donation Certificate No. 455 for having participated in the battle. He received Bounty Certificate No. 1651 for 320 acres of land for having served in the army from March 1 to May 30, 1836.
