HENRY, CHARLES M. -- His name appears on the official San Jacinto rolls printed in 1836, as a member of Captain William J. E. Heard's company.

The records in the Spanish Archives in the General land Office do not show that Mr. Henry received any land from the Mexican Government. This is an indication, at least, that he was not living in Texas as early as the year 1834.

The Land Office records also fail to show that Mr. Henry received headright, bounty, or donation lands from the Republic, or State, of Texas.

No information concerning Mr. Henry is contained in the comptroller's Military Service Records in the Archives of the Texas State Library.

Written by Louis W. Kemp, between 1930 and 1952. Please note that typographical and factual errors have not been corrected from the original sketches. The biographies have been scanned from the original typescripts, a process that sometimes allows for mistakes in the new text. Researchers should verify the accuracy of the texts' contents through other sources before quoting in publications. Additional information on the veteran may be available in the Herzstein Library.
