HENDERSTROM, AUGUSTUS -- Name omitted from the official San Jacinto rolls printed in 1836. Adjutant General John A. Wharton and Captain Alfred H. Wyly both certified May 16, 1836 that he participated in the battle as a member of Captain Wyly's company. Bounty Certificate No. 10051 for 640 acres of land was issued in Mr. Henderstrom's name for his services in the army from March 1 to July 10, 1836. The certificate had been assigned to Isaac Edward Robertson. Mr. Robertson as assignee of Mr. Henderstrom was issued a Headright Certificate in 1838 for one-third of a league of land by the Matagorda Board. The Board of Travelling Commissioners rejected the certificate as fraudulent. A suit followed and a decision in favor of Mr. Robertson was rendered September 23, 1847, in the district court of Matagorda County. It was not stated in the certificate when Mr. Henderstrom came to Texas.

The indications are that Mr. Henderstrom left Texas shortly after receiving his discharge from the army. He had assigned his rights to his headright and Bounty Certificates and did not apply for the Donation Certificate for having participated in the battle of San Jacinto since Donation Certificates were non-transferable.
