HASKINS, THOMAS A. -- Listed on page 12 of the San Jacinto rolls printed in 1836 as Thos. A. Haskin and on page 33 of the Land Office San Jacinto roll as Thos. A. Haskill, a member of Captain William Wood's Company. Most of the men of Captain Wood's Company enlisted in Captain Sidney Sherman's Company in Kentucky December 18, 1835, but it has not been established that Mr. Haskin did. No one by the name of Haskin, Haskill, or Haskins was issued a Donation Certificate for land for having participated in the Battle of San Jacinto or Bounty Certificates for land for having served in the army prior to the battle.

On page 86 of the army rolls in the General Land Office Thomas A. Haskins is shown as having enlisted August 13, 1836 in the company commanded by Lieutenant D. S. Harbert.
Bounty Certificate No. 51 for 240 acres of land was issued in the name of Thomas A. Haskins due him for having served in the army from September 16, 1839, to May 8, 1841. In the file containing this certificate is an affidavit by M. A. Tucker that Mr. Haskins was killed by Indians in Limestone County July 10, 1847.
No one by the name of Haskin, Haskill, or Haskins applied for headright land.
