GLIDWELL, ABNER -- Name appears on neither the official San Jacinto rolls or on the rolls in the General Land Office of those who were detailed to guard the camp opposite Harrisburg, April 21, 1836. He was issued Donation Certificate No. 408 on January 6, 1852 for 640 acres of land for his participation in the Battle of San Jacinto. He was a member of Captain Henry Teal's Company and on January 6, 1852 was issued Bounty Certificate No. 1002 for 1280 acres of land for having served in the army from January 14, 1836 to February 1, 1837.

Mr. Glidwell came to Texas in January, 1836. On page 114 of the army rolls in the General Land Office his name appears among those who on January 14, 1836, took the oath of allegiance to Texas at Nacogdoches.
