FREELE, JAMES -- On page 93 of Book B of the list of applicants for land in Austin's Colonies it is shown that in the application of Mr. Freele he stated that he had arrived in Texas from Ireland in 1833. He stated that by trade he was a blacksmith.

Mr. Freele was a member of Captain Moseley Baker's San Felipe Company at San Jacinto but he did not apply for the land due him for his military services. He sold his rights at Houston, January 22, 1837, for a league and labor of land due him as a headright. He could not write but affixed his mark to the deed of transfer.
