FOWLER, THOMAS M. -- Came to Texas in January, 1835, as is stated in the Headright Certificate issued to him in 1838 for a league and labor of land by the Bastrop County Board. He was a member of Captain Robert J. Calder's "Brazoria Company" at San Jacinto and on February 10, 1847, his widow received Donation Certificate No. 57 for 640 acres of land due him for having participated in the battle. At the same time his widow received Bounty Certificate No. 212 for 320 acres of land due Mr. Fowler for having served in the army from February 26, to May 26, 1836, and Bounty Certificate No. 211 for his services from August 21, 1836 to October 15, 1837.

It is shown in the Probate Records of Bastrop County that Mr. Fowler died in that county in 1843. Robert Owens was appointed administrator of his estate November 27, 1843. Mrs. Fowler was afterward married to Gorden Deese. She was living in Bastop County December 24, 1857, when she sold Bounty Certificate No. 212.
