In 1835 Mr. Flores was a member of Captain Thomas J. Rusk's Company at the Siege of Bexar. At San Jacinto he was a musician in Captain Henry Teal's Company of Regulars but records of the General Land Office do not show that he received the donation land due him for having participated in the battle. On April 2, 1838, Bounty Certificate No. 2740 for 1280 acres of land was issued in his name for his services in the army from February 28, 1836 to May 15, 1837. He was living in Nacogdoches February 8, 1838 when he assigned the rights to the certificate to Nathaniel Armory.

On page 130 of the army rolls in the General Land Office Mr. Flores is listed as a Musician in Company A., Captain Henry Teal, First Regiment of Infantry, June 30, 1836. On page 143 he is shown as a member of Captain Teal's Company August 31, 1836 but at that time on furlough until October 31st. On page 150 his name appears on the roll of Company B, Captain Jacob Snively, First Regiment of Infantry, October 31, 1836, but he is shown as having deserted on October 22nd. This, however, was a mistake for on page 173 he is listed as a Musician in Captain Snively's Company, December 31, 1836 but at that time on furlough and sick at Nacogdoches.
