ENRIQUEZ, LUCIO -- Born in Texas, as is shown in the Headright Certificate issued to him February 1,1838 by the Bexar County Board for one-third of a league of land. He was single at the time the certificate was issued but was later married to Ancencia Martinez.

Mr. Enriquez was a member of Captain Juan N. Seguin's Company at San Jacinto and on January 5, 1852 his widow received his Donation Certificate No. 406 for 640 acres of land due him for having participated in the battle. He received Bounty Certificate No. 1232 for 320 acres of land, December 21, 1837 for having served in the army from March 4 to June 5, 1836.

The Probate Records of Bexar County show that Mr. Enriquez died in that county in 1851. His widow on May 24, 1852 sold to John James of San Antonio 960 acres of land for $25.00.

The biographies have been scanned from the original typescripts, a process that sometimes allows for mistakes in the new text. Researchers should verify the accuracy of the texts' contents through other sources before quoting in publications. Additional information on the veteran may be available in the Herzstein Library.
