ELLENDER, JOSEPH -- Emigrated to Texas in 1825, as is stated in the Headright Certificate issued to him February 1, 1838 for one-third of a league of land by the Board of Land Commissioners of Liberty County. He was issued Bounty Certificate No. 2333 for 320 acres of land for having served in the army from March 6 to June 6, 1836. He was a member of Captain William Logan's Company at the battle of San Jacinto.

Mr. Ellender was living in Liberty County September 9, 1855 when he sold his Headright Certificate to William Lewis for one hundred dollars.
