EDWARDS, TILFORD C. -- Came to Texas in January, 1836. On Page 114 of the army muster rolls in the General Land Office it is shown that he subscribed to the oath of allegiance at Nacogdoches, January 14, 1836. In Service Record No. 6044 it is certified that he enlisted in Captain Peyton R. Splane's Company, February 22, 1836; was temporarily attached to Captain Isaac N. Moreland's artillery company, and was discharged from Captain Splane's Company, June 4, 1836. He was issued Bounty Certificate No. 1871 for 320 acres of land for having served in the army from February 22 to June 4, 1836. He received Bounty Certificate No. 4252 for 640 acres of land, September 4, 1838 for his services from September 10, 1836 to November 10, 1837. The land surveyed in Bosque County in 1848 by George Green. Donation Certificate No. 533 for 640 acres of land was issued to Mr. Edwards, September 4, 1838 for having participated in the battle of San Jacinto.

The Deed Records of Bosque County show that Mr. Edwards and his wife, Sarah, were living in Paducah, McCracken County, Kentucky July 7, 1880 when they sold their land in Bosque County to W. S. Powell.
