COLLINS, WILLIS -- Came to Texas in January 1835, as is stated in Headright Certificate No. 50, issued in his name, but delivered to his heirs, for one-third of a league of land, February 5, 1838 by the Board of Land Commissioners for Robertson County. Mr. Collins was dead at the time the certificate was issued.

In Comptroller's Military Service Record No. 4490 it is certified that Mr. Collins enlisted in Captain William Kimbro's Company March 7, 1836 and was on April 13th transferred to Captain Isaac N. Moreland's Artillery Company, remaining in the service until June 5, 1836. His heirs on January 24, 1840 received Donation Certificate No. 1004 for 640 acres of land, issued in Mr. Collins' name and due him for having participated in the battle of San Jacinto.

Mr. Collins died in Robertson County previous to February 5, 1838, at which time his heirs received his Headright Certificate.
