CHADDUCK, RICHARD H. -- Emigrated to Texas in 1836, as is stated in the Headright Certificate issued to him by the Montgomery County Board of Land Commissioners for one-third of a league of land, March 1, 1838.

In Comptroller's Military Service Record No. 1298 it is certified that Mr. Chadduck enlisted in Captain Joseph L. Bennett's company March 1 and served in the army until May 30, 1836. He was First Sergeant in Captain James Gillaspie's Company at San Jacinto, and on July 12, 1838 was issued Donation Certificate No. 460 for 640 acres of land for having participated in the battle. On June 15, 1838, he received Bounty Certificate No. 3865 for 320 acres of land for his services from March 1 to May 30, 1836.
In the Probate Records of Montgomery County it is shown that Mr.
Chadduck died in Montgomery county in 1843. He probably died in
that part now embraced in the present County of Madison.
Jonathan A. Collard was appointed administrator of his estate.
