BULLOCK, DAVID M. -- Arrived in Texas in 1833, as is stated in Headright Certificate No. ___ issued to him February 2, 1838 for one third of a league of land by the Montgomery County Board. He was living in Montgomery County April 6, 1846 when he sold the certificate to M. 0. Diman.

Mr. Bullock was a member of Captain William Ware's Company at San Jacinto and on May 4, 1846 was issued Donation Certificate No. 14 for 640 acres of land for having participated in the battle. The land was surveyed in 1856 in what is now Young County, four miles above Fort Belknap. Comptroller's Military Service Record No. 1627 signed by First Lieutenant Job S. Collard and countersigned by Colonel Sidney Sherman, reads as follows:
Camp Warlupe, June 5, 1836.
This is to certify that Mr. Bullock has served in the volunteer army of Texas from the 5th day of March 1836 to the date above written. That he was in the memorable Battle of San Jacinto April 21, 1836 and there as well as at all other times, discharged his duty with faith to Texas and honor to himself; and this day honorably discharged."
