WRIGHT, GILBERT - Came to Texas in 1835. This is stated in Headright Certificate No. 36 for one-third of a league of land issued to him in 1838 by the Board of Land Commissioners for Matagorda County.

WRIGHT, GILBERT – Listed on page 42 of the army rolls in the General Land Office as a member of Captain Joseph B. Chance’s Washington Company who was detailed to guard the baggage at the camp opposite Harrisburg, April 21, 1836.
