WILLIAMS, EDWARD - In Headright Certificate No. 165 issued to him for one-third of a league of land, January 20, 1838 by the Board of Land Commissioners for Matagorda County it is stated that he came to Texas in 1835. He was issued Donation Certificate No. 481 for 640 acres of land, February 4, 1853 for having been detailed to guard the baggage. He was living in Matagorda County, April 8, 1859 when he sold the certificate to Tarleton and Burlage for $300.00. “Edgar” Williams was issued Bounty Certificate No. 671 for 320 acres of land, December 4, 1837 for having served in the army from March 8 to July 23, 1836.
