WHITEHEAD, NICHOLAS - Born in Louisiana in 1790; arrived in Texas February 2, 1825, a bachelor. He received an unnumbered head right certificate for one-twelfth of a league of land from the Austin County board in 1838. He was issued bounty certificate No. 4292 for 320 acres of land for serving in the army from March 1 to June 1, 1836 and donation certificate No. 88 for 640 acres of land for having been ordered to remain at the camp at Harrisburg, May 18, 1838. The land was surveyed in Gonzales County. He was member of Capt. Wm. W. Hill’s company.

Mr. Whitehead was living in Washington County in 1831-32. Living at Coles’ settlement in 1835.
Mr. Whitehead had on received title to one-fourth of a league of land in Colony, situated in what is now Washington County.
