VAUGHAN, RICHARD - Born in Virginia in 1800. He was issued a Certificate of Character by Talbot Chambers for Milam’s Colony.

Mr. Vaughan was a member of Captain Joseph B. Chance’s Washington Company. He was issued Bounty Certificate No. 2855 for 320 acres of land April 12, 1838 for having served in the army from April 7 to July 23, 1836. He is shown on page 42 of the army rolls in the General Land Office as having been detailed to guard the baggage at the camp opposite Harrisburg, April 21, 1836. He did not receive donation land for his services.
