SMITH, WILLIAM W. - Arrived in Texas before May 2, 1835, as is stated in the headright certificate issued to him March 1, 1838 for one-third of a league of land by the Board of Land Commissioners for Brazoria County. On Page 41of the army rolls in the General Land Office he is listed as one of the men of Captain Peyton R. Splane’s company who was detailed to guard the baggage at the camp opposite Harrisburg, April 21, 1836.

Mr. Smith was living in Galveston County, November 17, 1855 when he sold his headright certificate to Samuel Moac.
