BROWN, WILSON C. -- Born September 1, 1810. He was a member of Captain William H. Smith's Company of cavalry. He received Bounty Certificate No. 1024 for 320 acres of land, February 4, 1852 for serving in the army from March 16 to June 16, 1836. He was living in Anderson County April 15, 1852 when he sold the certificate to Williamson Dale for $75.00. He received Bounty Certificate No. 1525 for 320 acres for serving from June 22 to September 22, 1836. On February 2, 1852 he was issued Donation Certificate No. 413 for 640 acres of land for having participated in the battle of San Jacinto.

Mr. Brown died at Jasper, Jasper County, March 19, 1876, while a member of the Texas Veterans Association. His grave in the cemetery in Jasper is marked.
