HODGE, ARCHIBALD - Shown on page 41 of the army rolls in the General Land Office as one of the men of Captain Peyton R. Splane’s company who was detailed to guard the baggage at the camp opposite Harrisburg, April 21, 1836. The records in the Land Office show that he applied for Headright Certificate No. 212 in 1838 for one labor of land from the Board of Land Commissioners for Fort Bend County. He came to Texas in May 1833.

On page 499 of Book C., Probate Records of Ft. Bend County Archibald Hodge is shown as having been appointed administrator of the estate of his son Alexander E. Hodge, December 27, 1853.

Mr. Hodge died in Anderson County January 20, 1882.

Mr. Hodge was postmaster at Hodge’s Bend, Fort Bent County in 1843.
