HARDIN, ENNIS - Came to Texas in 1832, as is stated in Headright Certificate No. 70 issued to him February 9, 1838 for one-third of a league by the Board of Land Commissioners for Jasper County. He enlisted July 7, 1835 in Captain Philip H. Coe’s Company of rangers and was discharged August 31, 1835. He was issued Bounty Certificate No. 904 for 640 acres of land December 11, 1837 for having served in the army from November 1, 1835 to July 8, 1836. On August 16, 1851 he was issued Donation Certificate No.359 for 640 acres of land for having been detailed to guard the baggage at the camp opposite Harrisburg. He was Second Lieutenant in Captain Joseph B. Chance’s Washington Company. Later in the year 1836 Mr. Hardin was a member of Major Isaac W.Burton’s company of Horse Marines.

Mr. Hardin was living in Polk County December 24, 1852 when he sold Donation Certificate No. 359 to J. F. Stockton for $115.
